Welcome to FBC Sparta, TN

We hope that you will find FBC Sparta to be friendly and inviting. We are by no means a perfect church, but we serve a perfect Savior. We seek to point people to Him. It is our mission to make much of Jesus every time we gather as a faith family. Part of that, is welcoming our guests with open arms and smiling faces. We would be honored to have you join us!

We are a group of redeemed sinners that are seeking to live for Christ. One of the beautiful aspects of the gospel is that it unites people of various experiences, life stations, and backgrounds under Christ’s Lordship. Each of us has a unique talent/gift and story that God gives us in order to build up the church and to share the gospel with the world. At FBC, there are numerous opportunities for serving others, pursuing spiritual growth and enjoying deep fellowship. Join us for heartfelt, authentic worship and relevant preaching and teaching that points us toward a joyful, Christ-centered life!

Current AM Sermon Series: Daniel

The plot of the book of Daniel is more action packed than most Hollywood movie scripts. It is a fascinating account of young, Hebrew exiles living under the pagan ruler Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. In a foreign, hostile land, the sovereign God of Israel, calls these young men to be messengers of His grace & power to the evil world around them. While the reader can be tempted to the hero worship of Daniel and his friends, Daniel continually reminds us that it is the grace of the sovereign Lord that enables them to live bold lives. It is Yahweh that raises them up, protects them, leads them, enables them, gives them influence and power and keeps His covenant with the nation of Israel by preserving a remnant. While the first portion of Daniel is a narrative about his life, the second half is prophetic in nature. Much of this prophecy is dealing with the end times and is declaring that God will rescue his people from the destruction of their sin by the work of the Messiah. God’s followers will be vindicated, evil will be crushed, and the blessings of the covenant will triumph because Jesus will reign. This book should not encourage us to worship sinful frail men or to debate the speculations of end time events. Rather, we should be provoked to live lives as more than conquerors in Christ, to live boldly in the midst of cultural hostility, to be gospel people of integrity even when it costs us, and to persevere the momentary trials of this life because of the glory that awaits us.
