Our worship services have moved online temporarily.

Dear FBC Family,

After much deliberation and prayer, we have decided to temporarily suspend all “in person” FBC worship gatherings for the next two weeks. After these two weeks, our leadership will reassess the COVID-19 situation to make decisions about future public gatherings. This is not an easy decision, but we do think it is a wise one that can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 to vulnerable populations within the FBC family and in White County. We have been advised by the CDC, White House, Tennessee Baptist Convention, Union Baptist Association, as well as medical professionals from within our congregation, and they all think it wise to suspend our public worship gatherings.

This means our services will be online for at least the next two weeks. We are working on a plan for exactly what that will look like. We do know that we will have music, scripture reading, and a sermon available through Facebook, Youtube, and the sermon page of our website.

Welcome to FBC Sparta, TN

We hope that you will find FBC Sparta to be friendly and inviting. We are by no means a perfect church, but we serve a perfect Savior. We seek to point people to Him. It is our mission to make much of Jesus every time we gather as a faith family. Part of that, is welcoming our guests with open arms and smiling faces. We would be honored to have you join us!

We are a group of redeemed sinners that are seeking to live for Christ. One of the beautiful aspects of the gospel is that it unites people of various experiences, life stations, and backgrounds under Christ’s Lordship. Each of us has a unique talent/gift and story that God gives us in order to build up the church and to share the gospel with the world. At FBC, there are numerous opportunities for serving others, pursuing spiritual growth and enjoying deep fellowship. Join us for heartfelt, authentic worship and relevant preaching and teaching that points us toward a joyful, Christ-centered life!

Current AM Sermon Series: Acts

Jesus was promised, born of a virgin, empowered by the Spirit, walked in perfect obedience to His Father in heaven, lived among the people of earth, served humbly, healed miraculously, taught constantly and loved endlessly. He lived a perfect life, although tempted like us. But instead of being celebrated for his life and actions, he gave his life away for us. He is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice, the substitute for sin, the wrath absorber, the lover of our souls, the Savior of man ... through his death we have peace with God. He was dead and buried, but the same spirit that empowered his ministry raised him to life on the third day. He appeared to many, commissioned the church, and promised to send the Holy Spirit before ascending into heaven. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John recount his life and works, but as the book of Acts aptly states, that was volume 1 ... this work continues

Acts tells the story of God’s people empowered by the Spirit, established as a church, and getting active in their mission to love one another and reach the world for Christ. Join us as we walk through Acts verse by verse each Sunday morning.
